SEOUL – July 7, 2009 – Motorola Inc‘s(NYSE: MOT) subsidiary, Motorola Korea Inc today announces the launch of ROKR in Korea, a sophisticated 3G full-touch screen sliding phone with excellent music capabilities. ROKR charts new territory by offering the first music-specialized phone with an equal emphasis on style. ROKR is available in two unique color combinations: chic black and red and cool blue and white. To celebrate the launch of ROKR, Motorola will sponsor British rock band Placebo’s first solo concert in Korea along with related online events. Placebo consists of three members and has sold millions of albums worldwide.

? Excellent Music Infrastructure: The built-in, music-exclusive multimedia chip enables up to 30 hours of play, and 16GB1 of expandable memory allows users to enjoy more music freely. A 3.5mm ear jack allows users to listen to music with the high-quality headset of their choice. Users may also simultaneously connect with a Bluetooth headset. The music control keys are placed externally so they can be easily controlled without sliding the phone open.

Full-touch Screen and Multimedia adding Usability and Fun
ROKR is distinguished by having both a large full-touch screen display and a sliding keypad. The keypad is hidden by the full-touch screen display while closed, appearing only when opened by the user. The dual input feature of either a touch screen display or a keypad allows the user to choose the input method that is most convenient for their given situation.
Motorola has incorporated various features into ROKR that enhance user convenience by fully utilizing the display. ROKR boasts the new panorama user interface, which supports three separate screens, allowing more widgets and shortcuts to be arranged according to usage patterns.
ROKR comes with 14 flash games which can be accessed and played with the touch of a finger, and seven touch-toys that can be saved on the background display. The built-in motion sensor adds fun and charm by allowing users to play games by touching, shaking or tilting the phone.
